Mommy Groups can take many forms, but simply put: it's a bunch of moms who agree to meet up with some regularity (often with babes in tow), to share adult conversation, offer support, compare notes and more often than we care to admit, dish on reality TV.
Moms typically come together because they share something in common. It could be:
- Same neighbourhood
- Children of the same age
- Shared interests or needs - ie. avid stroller walkers, children with nut allergies, signing babies
- Simply, a desire to connect!

Wondering whether Mommy Groups work? Here's a firsthand account from a Mommy A Go Go member, about her Mommy Group posting.
When my daughter Ayanna was about 3 or 4 weeks old, I posted an ad on M
ommy A Go Go for other new moms in my area to get together on play dates during maternity leave. Much to my suprise, within a month, we had 6 women, all relatively close in age, who (with the exception of one younger adorable baby) were all within 6 weeks of eachother! As a group, we decided that because winter was dawning, we needed to take the ad off Mommy A Go Go to keep our group size managable since we would have to begin meeting indoors at eachothers homes. We rotated on a schedule and met every single week, religiously, for play dates! Our little ones have grown up together almost since day one! We had a huge backyard 1st Birthday Celebration with all of our members, our significant others, and the grand-parents! To this day, even though we are all back to work, we continue to meet on the same rotation every couple of months! It has been truly amazing to watch them all grow and see their personalities bloom!
